Ultrasonic thickness gauges are the optimum tool for finding the remaining wall thickness of corroded or eroded metals such as found in steam and water piping, storage tanks, pressure vessels, etc. and where access is limited to only one side of the component. They can be used to measure most metals (forged, rolled, extruded, cast), many plastics, ceramics and glass, plus some rubber and fiberglass (depending upon composition). Some materials allow sound transmittal better than others and result in more accurate and reliable measurements. Surface condition and temperature variations will also affect thickness measurement. Dual element gauges can be employed at elevated temperatures up to +650F (+340C) when the appropriate transducer and couplants are used.

NDT 815 MVX

A very versatile digital thickness gauge with thickness display,
A-Scan and B-Scan display and Data Logging Capability.

Click for NDT-815 .pdf document

815.jpg (80526 bytes)
The NDT 815 is equipped with multiple viewing options to provide users with a complete set of inspection tools: (RF waveform, +/- Rectified waveform, Time based B-Scan, and Large Digits).

The adjustable square wave pulser provides the flexibility necessary for both high resolution and penetration requirements.

The A-Scan rectified mode is commonly used for detecting flaws/pits in pulse-echo mode and measuring thru-paint and coatings in echo-echo mode.

The time-based B-Scan feature of the NDT 815 displays a cross section of the test material. It is commonly used to display the profile of the bottom surface of the test material.

Built-in AGC gain control for thru-paint measurements in multi-mode operation.

Prove up flaw detection capability when using the optional single to dual transducer adapter cable along with an angle beam transdcuer and wedge assembly.

The variety of calibration options is just one more example of NDT 815’s overall versatility.

The NDT 815 has the ability to store up to 64 custom user-defined setups. All factory setups can be selected, edited and saved to any setup location.

The NDT 815 is equipped with an alpha-numeric data logger to provide increased versatility for those custom reporting needs.

The built-in transducer types offer increased linearity between transducers.

The high speed scan feature speeds up the inspection process by making 32 measurements per second. Remove transducer from the test material and display the minimum measurement scanned.

Use the visual alarm to set hi and lo limits for applications requiring specific tolerances. If the actual thickness value is above or below the limits, a red light is illuminated.

Use the find feature to locate the detection point, while automatically adjusting the display to bring the signal into view.

Complete with Windows® based software and interface cable for transferring data to & from a PC.

UMX-2 Underwater Metal & Coating Thickness Gauge

UMX2whbkSm.jpg (21165 bytes)
The UMX-2 Underwater gauge is the latest addition to the Dakota product range. Fully equipped with our DSP platform using FPGA technology, it's extremely versatile for all those offshore inspections. The enclosure is extremely durable, with a maximum depth rating of 1000ft (300m), and offers the use of both Dual & Single Membrane transducers to accomodate your application requirements. The features include: auto probe zero, auto probe recognition, and multiple measurement mode options.

Dual Element modes (corrosion inspections) include: Pulse-Echo (pits & flaws), Echo-Echo (thru-paint) & Pulse-Echo w/coating (combo). The Single Membrane probe option uses a Triple-Echo (TCG) mode for coated and uncoated general applications. While not suitable for blind surface corossion inspections, this option offers good linearity for general purpose applications.

The calibration section contains 8 common pre-programmed material types and 1 custom user programable option. Connect the UMX-2 to your PC, and program it with our DakView3 utility software.

The UMX-2 stores up to 5,000 readings in a variety of configurations. The file structure options include: sequential with auto identifier and alpha numeric grid formats. Every measurement stored also saves a copy of the UMX-2 current settings, along with an A-Scan waveform graphic.

The PVX

A Precision Thickness Gauge with digital thickness display, A-Scan Signal Waveform
and B-Scan Display and large data logging capacity

Click for PVX .pdf document

PVX2.jpg (69237 bytes)Provides the ability to use a variety of single element transducers for specific applications: Standard Delay Line (acrylic and graphite tips for metals and thin plastics), Pencil Delay Line (tough access area on thin materials), and Contact transducers (variety of applications).

Adjustable square wave pulser provides the flexibility necessary for both high resolution and penetration requirements.

Selectable viewing options provide the user with additional flexibility during operation: (RF waveform, +/- Rectified waveform, and Large Digits with Scan Bar.

Time based B-Scan feature displays a cross section of the test material. Displays the profile of the opposite surface of the material.

Adjustable resolution settings add to the PVX flexibility.

Hardware AGC gain control for multiple echo and thru-paint measurement.

16 factory setups and 48 user-defined setups. User defined setups can be edited for custom applications.

The PVX is equipped with an alpha-numeric data logger to provide increased versatility for those custom reporting needs.

The high speed scan feature speeds up the inspection process by making 32 measurements per second. Remove transducer from the test material and display the minimum measurement scanned.

Visual and audible alarm with hi and lo limit settings for specific application tolerances.

Auto Find feature locates the detection point(s) and adjusts the display settings to bring the waveform into view.

The PVX comes complete with Windows® PC software for data transfer to and from a PC

Optional USB AC Adapter Kit supplies several alternate power solutions for your battery-operated PosiTector (6000, DPM, 200 & UTG). They allow the gauge to operate continuously without the need for batteries. Use the cable alone to connect a PosiTector to your PC's built-in USB port that acts as a continuous power source. Or connect the cable to the included power adapter which plugs into any AC wall electrical outlet, 110 or 220V. A selection of electrical plugs is included which are capable of dealing with most country’s outlets.
